I am an aspiring singer, composer, songwriter, and producerat Berklee College of Music. In my first semester I joined the Neo Soul Ensemble where I worked and performed with John Robinson, (Michael Jackson’s former drummer) along with many other great talents such as Meshell Ndegeocello who’s music has been featured in many featured films and also a Grammy nominee. Do to my stellar performances with the Neo Soul Ensemble, Berklee paid for my travel to Atlanta to promote the school to bring out new students where I have performed in front of a large crowd. By my second semester, I performed in Berklee’s Singer’s Night which highlights the top premier vocalist and also debuted my original composition titled “Purple Hearts” which I co-wrote with my friend Arthur Johnson.
I have also performed at Convocation which is a show welcoming all new students into the school held at the Berklee Performance Center. In the start up of my second year I have been invited to perform for Convocation where I participated in a tribute to the late Michael Jackson. The show was so well received that Berklee asked me to do the show again on September 21, 2009. As a special treat, Quincy Jones submitted a live video opening up the show. At the end of my second year, I was asked to participate in a show with Smokey Robinson for the 2010 Great American Songbook concert featuring the music of Motown and will be performing the Michael Jackson tribute show once again but premiering at the Gillette Stadium March 7th 2010. Being at Berklee College of Music has been a very exciting experience for me and has opened up many doors while being able to focus on school. Outside of the performances I mentor other up and coming musicians, composes film scores, compositional work, and enjoy producing songwriting in hopes of jump starting my own career.
