Our mentoring program provides a sustained, community-based network of personal support, information and resources to Berkeley Community Fund High Hopes Scholars and their families, to help each student complete college successfully and increase their future opportunities.

To help each student succeed in college, Mentors stay in phone and email contact with their Scholar and provide moral support and understanding about the challenges of the student’s college experience; locate resources to assist with student’s personal and professional development; explore and share Mentor’s and student’s academic, career, family, and other experiences relevant to the student. Mentors meet personally with their Scholar at least twice a year, in addition to seeing them at Berkeley Community Fund events. Mentors may also help their students develop a vision and goals for each student’s academic and professional future. The Berkeley Community Fund provides resources for both Mentors and students, helping create a network of support and information.
